I'm playing in this tournament and I'm booking up on 1.c4, against 1.e4 is Nf6, against 1.d4 is f5, against 1.Nf3 is e5.
ReplyDeleteI wish you all good luck!
Can the World Champion win WI Junior Championship? Perhaps not yet as Tommy Ulrich will be there.
ReplyDeleteAgainst 1.Nf3 is e5. Really You are going to gambit your e pawn???
ReplyDeleteI think he left that as a joke. Why would he give his actual repertoire away??
ReplyDeleteI wish I could play in this tournament, but I am in ATL until late Friday night.

ReplyDeleteWhat if Ben's opponents don't play this way? Maybe this works online. But some of our club players might not fall for this.
I uploaded the current wallchart and pairings for round 4 on my blog.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see Adream Liang having such a strong tournament.
ReplyDeleteKeep the updates coming Ben!
ReplyDeleteThe only tournament where you can go +3 =2 -0 and still lose 10 rating points!
ReplyDeleteDrawing patzers does this, Troy!
ReplyDeleteI had 3 wins with 2 draws and only lost 4 rating points
ReplyDeletejames . .you're the only player i know who can finish 1/2 point out of first and lose rating points thats why i'm scared of you. . . oh btw. a happy belated 500th tournament to you too. 500 tournaments! no player i know has played the caro kann in 500 straight tournaments. .not even karpov has done this
ReplyDeleteToo bad USCF doesn't have MSA records of our tournaments before 1991 (this only applies to us oldies).
ReplyDeleteokay so troy can lost 10 pts but he's just a jr.
ReplyDeleteTroy played down for the entire event, losing 10 points is a blessing!
ReplyDeleteWow, didn't mean to start anything here. I definitely wouldn't call these players patzers, they are young juniors that are rapidly improving and feasting on strong competition.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, it was just a few short years ago that Troy himself feasted in similar manner!
