Homestead Charity Scholastic Tournament

Parents, even if your kids would never normally consider playing in a scholastic event, please consider this one!

Homestead High School Chess Club, together with the Mequon-Thiensville Scholastic Chess Club, are hosting a scholastic benefit tournament for the WSCF's "Chess to College" program for new chess clubs in underserved areas in Wisconsin.  All net proceeds from this event, concessions included, will be donated to this program.

SCHEDULEeveryone plays four games, there is no elimination (you can skip some games if needed). Late registration is 9:00-9:30am. Round times: 10:00am, 11:15am, 12:45pm, 2:00pm. Award ceremony begins shortly after the last round.
K-12 SECTIONK-12 students are eligible. This is a very beginner-friendly event, so new players are encouraged to participate. Experienced tournament players may want to consider the Open section. Time control is 30 minutes (and 5 second delay) per player per game. This event is not rated. PRIZES: 25 individual trophies based on age and 5 team trophies. Every participant receives chocolate at the closing ceremony.
OPEN SECTIONopen to everyone, need to be a current US Chess member. This event is Quick rated, but regular ratings will be used for pairings and prizes. Time control is 25 minutes (and 3 second increment) per player per game. PRIZES: trophies to top three places and additional class trophies based on rating.
