Weekend Tournament (October 4) and Updates for Meadows Room

As of now, we are waiting for the Meadows Room to get repaired.  It looks like it might be around 3-4 weeks yet before we can resume chess.

A reminder that the Hales Corners Challenge is schedule for October 4 at the Country Inn & Suites, 1250 S. Moorland Rd, Brookfield, WI 53005, so hopefully we will see a lot of our members there.  There are signs that I894 will be closed this weekend, so if you are coming to our weekend tournament, please plan accordingly so you do not arrive late.  Thanks.

Current Club Championship Plan

Hey folks. Robin is going to be talking to the Village Hall next week to reserve the space for next year.

During that conversation, he'll try to get more info on the current status of reopening. If we aren't able to get a definitive date for when we can resume, then the current plan is to submit the first three rounds for rating, and then, when we are able to resume, we will give each player the appropriate number of byes based on their score.

If you're 3-0, you'll get three one-point byes. If you're 2-1 we'd give you two one point and one zero point byes, etc.

We don't want to wait too long to rate what exists currently, as that can cause a lot of issues with US Chess needing to re-rate older events, etc.

Also, we have been looking for alternate space to play while we wait on the Village Hall. If anyone has access to any space, please let us know.

We have spoken with a few places: Country Inn and Suites, where the Challenges are held; Beyond the Board board game cafe, and the St James Catholic church, which used to be our backup space. So far they either weren't interested, or are way out of our price range. If you know anyone that might be able to help, please let us know.

Chris
