Vote Chess match versus the Waukesha Chess Club - Wednesday, December 23

This Wednesday evening we will play another Vote Chess match against the Waukesha Chess Club.  The Time Control is G/75 with 10-second increment (G75+10).  SWCC is White; the game will be played on chess.com.
 

We will meet via Zoom.  The game starts at 7:00 pm; we will gather on Zoom starting at 6:45 pm.

Everyone is invited to contribute to the discussion before we decide on each move.

October Online Pumpkin Swiss - 3-week Swiss event, G/60 with 5-second increment - (October 8, 15, 22) - online at chess.com

Thursday, October 8, we will hold another online multi-week Swiss-system tournament with a time control of G/60+5  (initial time of 60 minutes plus a 5 second increment for each move).  

This will be a three-round tournament (1 game each Thursday 7:00 pm, for 3 Thursdays in a row: October 8, 15, and 22, in 1 section.

Remember, chess.com doesn't have the ability to automatically-pair a multi-week event, so I will step in as the Tournament Director, pairing each round (just like the old days at the club!).
 
Please sign up by indicating your interest in playing to THIS FORUM post, remembering to provide your First Name, Last Name, EMAIL, chess.com username, and US Chess rating (we use USCF ratings for pairing purposes).

Blitz event (online), Thursday June 18, 7:00 pm

We will have a 1-night Blitz event, online at chess.com.  Time control is 5 minutes per game, plus 3-second increment with each move (5+3).

There will be two sections, Open and Reserve.  You may enter either section, but players rated below 1600 (USCF, or chess.com) might prefer the Reserve Section.

The event will start at 7:00 pm sharp Thursday night.  Please show up a few minutes early (to "join" the tournament).   Each round will start after the prior round finishes.

April 30 - "Slow Blitz" event in 2 sections (Game 8 + 3 seconds); Open & Reserve

this Thursday (April 30) we are once again having a "SLOW BLITZ" event, this time in TWO Sections.  We start promptly at 7:00 pm Thursday night.


Time control is 8+3 (8 minutes, with 3-second increment), with 6 rounds.  The event should take roughly two hours (7:00-9:00 pm).


With the two sections, there are no restrictions.  The idea is that players with USCF ratings <=1600 play in the Reserve Section, while anyone can join the Open Section.

April 9 - Southwest Chess Club ----> Online event at Chess.com " Slow Blitz " (Game/8 minutes, + 2-second increment)

This Thursday - ONLINE Chess Tournament !

The Southwest Chess Club will begin hosting online events, starting this Thursday 

This Thursday at 7:00 pm we will hold a 2-round Game/30 minutes (with 5-second increment) event.

           You must have completed the above steps before the start time (7:00 pm).
           Then, there are three different ways to get into the tournament:

Now you are in the "playing hall".  Again, you should do this before the designated start time. 
At the start time (or shortly thereafter) the site will create pairings and players will be thrust into their games.
