The Southwest Chess Club meets each Thursday night at the Hales Corners Village Hall/Police Station, at 5635 South New Berlin Rd, Hales Corners, WI, downstairs Community Room. Club opens at 6 PM, Tournament Games at 7 PM.
In the SWCC’s Holiday Holly High-Speed Swiss, going into Round 3 (with two rounds left to play next Thursday), we have four players with 2 points leading the tournament:
Allen Becker, John Veech, Jim Coons, and Zhexuan Zhou
Top 2 players: Parker (2069) has 2 1/2 points. Sasha (2046) has 1 1/2 points. Andrew has 2 1/2 Robin has 1 1/2 Jim Coons has 1 1/2 Four players still playing round 3, each with 2 points right now.
Well, Day 1 was a great day, but Day 2 . . . In the 4th round I had a crushing position against Hongkai Pan and let the slip away to a drawn position. But if that wasn't bad enough I let the draw turn into a lose! Then to make me feel better Guy paired me against Alexander Velikanov, which ended in me getting crushed on the kingside. What can I say, I had a bad day!
Parker wins the Wisconsin Memorial. I played solid chess, but got in too much time trouble too many times. I must work on that. Andrew had some tough pairings in rounds 4 and 5.

The Wisconsin Memorial is this weekend in Madison, December 6 and 7. Hope to see a lot of the Club's members and Milwaukee chess players in Madison.
