I guess I don't have to get beat up by a little kid in the Vets tournament! :)
No, Jim, I guess you do not have to worry about that!
I sent in my registration for this today. Do we have a list of pre-registrations so far?
I have not seen a list of pre-registrations so far, and I do not know if one is forthcoming. If I receive one, I will post it.
Does anyone have a copy of any of the volumes of Openings for White According to Anand that I can borrow for a week or two?
I have heard some really good things about this series and I'd just like to check one out a little before I ever think about buying them.
At some point I plan on doing some work on my openings...
Checked in to my room at the Gruenhagen. The phrase "You get what you pay for" has never made more sense than at this moment.
Luckily my room makes up for being cold by also being drafty. The principle of two weaknesses rears it's ugly head once again!
After 3 rounds, Betaneli, Raghavan, and Becker A. have 3 points.
My room is plenty warm. I think these accommodations are excellent for the price. This is a well run tournament.
Updates on the Junior Open?
After round four: Tommy Ulrich and Awonder Liang are perfect. Should be Ulrich-Liang in last round. Ulrich just beat Adream Liang in round 4.
Any updates?
Nietman...STOP DRINKING DIET COKE!!
POST THE PAIRINGS!!!!
Curious as to how Allen and Awonder fared in their quests to go 5-0...
Isn't the tournament over? Why would there be pairings?
Betaneli beat Allen Becker in Round 5, so Alex takes clear 1st, with a 4-way tie for 2nd (A. Becker, Ragahavan, and 2 others). More news and results soon.
A. Becker is 2011 WI Senior Champ, just a hair better on tiebreaks over Vijay Raghavan.
Congratulations to the winners, and to Allen Becker for becoming the new Wisconsin Senior Champion!
Nice job Allen!
Great pictures!
