This Thursday is our holiday party from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. We will be providing food and drinks, but feel free to bring your own food and drinks also (pot luck fashion). We will have some sets there for playing chess, but please bring your own clocks. Happy Holidays!! ROAD CONSTRUCTION ALERT:
I-94 East Bound Construction Ramp Full Closure at OFF RAMP TO WIS 67 (Oconomowoc). This affects players driving from the Madison area.
Detour: Continue East on I-94 past WIS 67 to the County Highway P exit (about 2 miles). Exit at County Highway P. Travel south on County P to enter the second roundabout and exit at County DR (Delafield Road). Turn right (west) on Delafield Road to WIS 67. Turn right (north) on WIS 67 to Regent Road. Turn left (west) on Regent Road and continue to Olympia Resort. Basically, you get off at County Highway P and backtrack on Delafield Road to WIS 67.
WIS 67 is also under construction and is only a one-lane road.
Please plan at least 15 minutes extra for the construction on getting to the Olympia Hotel.

Grandmaster Chess Lecture This Thursday
This coming Thursday, July 16th, Grandmaster Josh Friedel will be giving a lecture at the Southwest Chess Club located in Hales Corners, WI.
The lecture will run from 7-9pm with a 15-20 min Q&A afterwards. Admission is free to members of the club.If you are not a member you may join that evening for the prorated price of $5 (membership runs $10 annually so with only half a year left you pay just half price!)
We meet at 5635 S New Berlin Rd Hales Corners, WI 53130. Once you walk through the main doors just take the stairs down and you'll see us in the Meadows room to the left!
This is a great chance to see a great lecture by a GM at practically no cost to you.
This lecture and our entire upcoming Summer Lecture Series were arranged by Chris Wainscott, an Officer and Board Member of the Southwest Chess Club. Chris also wrote the cover story in the July 2015 issue of Chess Life. Be sure to check it out.
