2017 WI Quick & Blitz Championships (1/21/17)



2017 WISCONSIN STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS - (QUICK AND BLITZ)

Saturday, January 21, 2017.

Fitchburg Community Center

5510 Lacy Road, Fitchburg WI
QUICK CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP is held in two sections: Open (open to all, rated) and Scholastic (K-12 player, not rated). Time control is 25 minutes (+3 second delay) per player, everyone plays 4 games.

Notation is not required. On-site registration is 9:00-9:30am. Round times: 10am, 11am, 12:45pm, 2pm.

Prizes Open: $900 (b/60 or proportional): 1st $250, 2nd $150, class prizes (5-8 players per class): $500 Prizes Scholastic: team trophies to top five schools and 20 individual trophies based on age.

Entry Fee: Open $25, Scholastic $20 if entered by January 17th ($10 more afterwards)



BLITZ CHAMPIONSHIP is rated and is open to everyone. Time control is 3 minutes (+2 second increment) per player, everyone plays 10 games. Round One begins at 3:30pm Prizes: $900 (b/60 or proportional) and 5 trophies: 1st $250, 2nd $150, class prizes (5-8 players per class): $500
Entry Fee: $25 if entered by January 17th ($10 more afterwards)

National Masters Erik Santarius and Rithwik Mathur as well as experts David McNeil and Kevin Li plan to participate. Two years ago we had an odd number of players for Blitz, so I was a house player. :-)
