Frostbite Action Swiss February 27

This Thursday at the Southwest Chess Club we are holding a one day, three round tournament, the Frost Bite Action Swiss.  There will be two sections available.  One has a Game in 30 minutes, with a 5 second delay time control and impacts both your Regular and Quick Ratings.  The other section has a Game in 24 minutes, with a 5 second delay time control and is only Quick Rated.  Registration is available between 6:20 and 6:50 pm this Thursday, February 27.  If you arrive later you might have to wait until the second round to be paired.  One half point bye is available in Round 1.  Entry fee is $5.  All three rounds of this tournament will be completed this Thursday evening.  Details below.

The Love is in the Cold Air Quad starts this Thursday, February 6 and continues the following two Thursdays, February 13 and 20.  All three games will take place at the Hales Corners Village Hall, our regular meeting place.

 

Please note: A quad is a four person section in which each of the four players will play each of the other three players in successive weeks.  Therefore it is important that you enter only if you know that you can make all three weeks.  If you know that you might have too much homework, will be playing, coaching or officiating at a basketball game or have vacation planned, etc.  this is not your tournament.  There are no byes in a quad.  Players will be placed in quads based on ratings, so you will be playing players with similar ratings.

 

To enter, please arrive at the chess club between 6:20 and 6:50 pm.  If you arrive later, you might be left out.  If you anticipate arriving later, contact me in advance prior to 5 pm this Thursday and we can enter you.
