I predict I will not win this event!;)
This should be an exciting event!!
The word on the street is that Allen Becker is going to win this event, no matter how many GMs or IMs or Masters show up!! Those are tough words, so if I were rated higher than 2200, I would definitely show up to take up that challenge.
I agree, Becker will win. But which one?? ;)
John, excellent point, as you are the current Club Champ! Well, everyone, come off the street, and show us what pieces are up your sleeves.
-Allen
Sounds like fun! Will it be a double round-robin then?
We usually run double round-robins in 8 to 10 player groups, because it is a faster way of getting more games in (i.e., play one game with white and then flip and play one game with black against the same opponent). However, a lot depends on how many players sign up. So that is a decision the TD makes prior to start time, as to whether to play a double round-robin in perhaps two or three sections, or play a large single round-robin.
Will it be Becker vs Becker for all the marbles ? Or will a Master or an up and coming player horn in on the party and win it all. Fast action and upsets are practically guaranteed. Come and be a part of the action,
Word is a Master will show up tonight!
which one?
Word on the street is a kid is going to come out on top!
Joachim wins the C class prize. The other class C players in the tournament simply did not stand a chance. Yes. There are some talented kids in this club, but can they dunk?
Sorry I missed the tnmt. Tried to get a trade for work but it fell through.
Did the kid win? I assume it was either Schneider or Veech? Or did Sasha show up?
Congratulations to Erik Santarius (the Wisconsin State Champion) for winning the Winter Blitzzard V in grand fashion last night with a perfect 22-0 performance!!
The tournament had 12 players and they played a double round-robin. It was a grueling 22 rounds of 5-minute blitz chess by all the players involved. Of course, Eric showed us why he is the Wisconsin State Champion with this magnificent performance!
Peter, are you saying you were the only class C player in the tournament? :) My quick rating is currently 1485, so I guess I'd be in the running too.
That is what I intended to say. I forgot that quick ratings are an actual thing.
