This Thursday, March 28, the Southwest Chess Club will not be able to meet at our usual place in the downstairs Community Room at the Hales Corners Village hall. This is due to the fact that the following Tuesday is an election day and the village uses the community room to store election materials.
Barnes & Noble has graciously agreed to allow us to meet at their store near Southridge. It is located at: 4935 South 76th Street. It is on the west side of the street between Layton and Edgerton. We will meet in the cafe area. Food and non-alcoholic drinks are available for purchase. So if it is more convenient to eat at the cafe before chess, you are welcome to do so. The cafe closes at 9 pm so we will need to be out of the cafe prior to then. However, the store itself is open until 10, giving you time to browse the bookstore. This will be a night for casual chess and Barnes & Noble customers will be welcome to join us. Those club members who bring the boxes of sets and boards will bring them this Thursday as well.
Our next tournament starts the following Thursday, April 4 at our usual location (details below). I hope to see you at Barnes & Noble this Thursday.
