Just for clarification, the top section (above 2000) is the only section one cannot play up in. For example, if you are rated 980, you can play in the U1500 or the U2000 sections if you desire. Thanks.
Please register early if you can. It saves us time on game day, and also saves you a few dollars. Thanks.
Alright, now we just need Erik Santarius and Anthony Parker to join!
Woah! Sasha's playing!
Notice that Allen Becker is currently seeded last in his section !! That is a strong section when that happens !!
Unfortunately this event will suffer because of the Chicago tournaments.
Thanks for the updates! Meanwhile, at the US Junior Open Awonder Liang beat Sasha Velikanov to go 4-0 into the last day. Good chess to all!
Alex
A player is playing who was born in South Africa, is living in Germany and this weekend plays in US - that is international gaming. Great. Gregory: thanks, your Stephan.
And we are glad Gregory came to our tournament.
Awonder won the U.S. Junior. Sasha tied for second.
This means Awonder will be at the U.S. Junior Closed in 2016. As he is already attending this year that gives him two chances at earning a spot in the U.S. Championship.
Thank you Allen and Robin for organising such a wonderful chess tournament. I had an absolutely wonderful weekend.I came as a stranger and met so many friendly people in such a short time.
This is one of the reasons a love chess so much, meeting interesting people. Thank you Gregory Yon
Aside from Awonder winning the u20 section of the US Junior Open, Anupama Rajendra won the u15 section and Daniel Perelman won the u11 section. Aradh Kaur finished in clear second for u8. What a true domination by Wisconsin!
What were the prizes in u11 in U.S. junior open?
